Remember the children's fable about the ugly duckling?

The clumsy old grey baby duck that looked and sounded different from his siblings...the one everyone taunted and considered unattractive.

The one shunned and ridiculed so intently that he runs away in shame and distress...only to eventually learn that he's more remarkable than any plain old duck, yo.

Here's what: don't be so quick to judge the ugly duckling - metaphorically or otherwise. Remember that gangly, awkward girl with the glasses and braces from high school whom everyone called four-eyed brace face? She's the founder of her own beauty products line today. #skinnygirl

How about the bookworm everyone teased for skipping the Prom to go to space camp? He's an engineer researching medicines that may just eradicate cancer. #sciencerocks

Do you recall that boy with the torn clothes and worn out shoes who was mocked for not having his Dad around? Guess what; he is LeBron freaking James, you dig? #kingjames

Don't believe someone else's harsh criticism of you; that speaks more about them, anyway. Don't give haters your time or energy; believe in yourself. Oh, and don't be so quick to cast aside that funny-looking acorn; it may just grow to be a 100-foot-tall white oak that sticks around for about 600 years or so.
