GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It's here. The dreaded one week mark.
I was chatting with my pal Lisa about how NOT ready I am. I even told my buddy Anthony that I freaked myself out when I looked at the date on my phone this morning.
My mind is racing faster than Santa's elves are tacking limbs onto dolls right about now. Am I done with all the gifts? Ooh, I gotta bake. When should I start the Wedding Soup meatballs and lasagna sauce? Man, I haven't even THOUGHT about wrapping yet.
Then suddenly I got a phone call from Kerry. And it made me so happy that it evaporated my harried holiday haze. "The vet called and said Monnie's test results are good! She's perfectly fine!"
We'd been terrified of getting her lab work back after she had a cyst removed last week...not to mention after having lost two of our previous dogs (both Boxers like Monnie) at very young ages. This call was more music to my ears than if my favorite Christmas carol was being sung by Josh Groban...in my office...to just me!
Just like that; all's right with the world. The wrapping will get done...eventually!
Mt 1:18-25 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means "God is with us." When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus.
